I dont really understand a couple of steps.
You say to hide the Black Layer but then where do you paint… on the first layer (White). And also… when you bring back the black layer… if that layer is on top then what would you be selecting? I am working with CS4

i tried doing this but i am stuck on the third step. i have made the outline with the brush…and also hide the black layer. but i cannot use the chrome filter…as it is not showing me the sketch option in filter. y is it so? to recheck on the option i brought an image in a new layer and tried chrome effect on it…it worked on the image layer…but its not working on the brush layer…y is it so…plz help.

  30. priyanka says:

thanx for replying on my previous problem. it got solved. but now after applying the chrome option, my outline colour changes to grey but it doesn’t show me the chrome effect. Just the red dots get converted to grey dots…why is it so?

  31. cenoyes13 says:

Hi, i have the same problem with the third step; making the splash. It just turns the dots gray and i do not see a chrome effect. I have tried everything. But its not only the chrome effect if i put and filter on the dots it doesn’t change or at least i don’t see the effect applied. Im not sure what i am doing wrong. Can you please help me. I would truely appreciate it! Oh and by the way this is an awesome tutorial :)

  32. Rejis says:

    Thanks a lot Cenoyes.
In the 3rd step, (be sure you are working on a new layer) when chrome filter is applied, change the filter settings ie. Details to 10 and Smoothness to 10. Hope this will give solve your problem.

  33. SX says:

Same problem with the chrome effect, it doesn not have that squishy effect once it was applied. The brushes are still in perfect round grey circles.

Note chrome details are 10 for both settings.

  34. hello….nice blog and some helpful informations….thx….well done and greetings
